How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
Child sponsorship is a monthly contribution of $35 per child, where $29.05 of which directly supports your sponsored child and the other $5.95 goes towards the management of the child sponsorship service. This is a long-term commitment running for several years to ensure your matched child has a stable childhood free from poverty. How does child sponsorship work?
Child sponsorship allows you to transform not only the life of a child, but an entire community. We encourage sustainability and independence, so contributions also go to community-focused solutions and creating income-generating opportunities for families. Once you are matched with a child, you will receive a welcome letter with their information and annual progress reports, and you can send them letters at any time and your child will reply to you!
Where will my money go?
We ensure transparency regarding the allocation of your donation. Approximately $29.05 of your $35 monthly contribution directly supports your sponsored child, their family, and community. You’ll receive regular updates and photos showcasing the tangible impact of your support on your sponsored child’s growth and well-being.
Are my donations eligible for tax receipts?
Yes, tax receipts will be shared in a consolidated format at the end of each tax year for your convenience. Throughout the duration of your support, if your legal name or mailing address changes, please get in touch with the Good Neighbors International Tajikistan team to make sure that we include the correct details on your tax receipt.
Are you an existing child sponsor? Do you want to reach out to your sponsored child?
Aside from our annual update letters, existing child sponsors can send personalized messages, pictures, and extra gift money to their sponsored child. Good Neighbors International in Tajikistan will coordinate with the respective local teams to make sure the child receives the messages. Sponsors get the chance to develop stronger connections with their child, and there is even the possibility that the child will send a reply back!
